Privacy Policy

Keetabs ("we", "us") is a free service that lets you follow TV shows and get an email when a new season arrives. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can get it removed. The short version: we collect only what the service needs to work, we don't run ads, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

Account information

• Email address and display name — used to sign you in and to send the notifications you asked for.
• Password — stored only as a salted hash; we never see or store the plain text.
• Google sign-in — if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from Google. We don't get access to anything else in your Google account.

Things you do in the app

• Shows you follow, your watch status, and your ratings.
• Friend connections you create with other users.

Usage analytics

To understand which features are useful, we record basic usage events: which show pages are viewed and how you got there (search, the popular list, an email link…), search queries, and whether season recaps are opened. If you're signed in, these are linked to your account; otherwise they're anonymous. Analytics events are automatically deleted after 180 days. We use no third-party analytics services, advertising trackers, or tracking pixels.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or third-party cookies. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser's local storage as authentication tokens and is removed when you sign out.

How we use your data

• To operate your account and show you your followed shows.
• To email you when a show you follow gets a new season, plus account emails such as verification and password reset.
• To improve the product using the aggregate usage analytics described above.

Every notification email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. We don't send marketing email, and we never sell or share your personal data with advertisers.

Services we rely on

Your data is processed by a small set of infrastructure providers, strictly to run the service:

• Supabase — database hosting (EU, Frankfurt region).
• Render — application hosting.
• Resend — delivers the emails we send you.
• Google — optional sign-in with Google.
• TVmaze — the source of TV show information. Your searches are forwarded to TVmaze to find shows, but never with your identity attached.

Data retention and deletion

• Account data is kept for as long as your account exists.
• Usage analytics are deleted automatically after 180 days.
• You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account and everything linked to it (follows, ratings, watch history, friendships) are removed. You can also email hello@keetabs.com from your account's address instead.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@keetabs.com. If you're in the EU/EEA or Türkiye, these rights are guaranteed by GDPR and KVKK respectively.

Children

Keetabs is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced by email.

Terms of Service

• Keetabs is provided free of charge, "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service.
• TV show information (titles, air dates, artwork, episode data) comes from TVmaze and is used under the CC BY-SA license. We're not affiliated with TVmaze or any broadcaster.
• Don't abuse the service: no automated scraping of our API, no attempts to access other users' data, no using the service to send spam.
• You can stop using Keetabs at any time; see above for how to delete your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
